Ah, salmon, one of the tastiest and healthiest types of fish. It's incredibly versatile, easy to make, and can take on lots of different flavors. And now I'm going to teach you the basics of cooking salmon so you can make it to perfection!

Before we begin, it's important to make sure you start with a high-quality salmon. Wild salmon has a much better taste than farm-raised, so go with that if you can. And avoid getting pre-cut pieces - they tend to dry out during cooking.
Now, on to the cooking. Here's what you'll need:
- 1/4 cup of oil (canola or olive oil)
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 2-4 tablespoons of your favorite seasoning or marinade
- 4-6 ounce portions of salmon
Begin by heating the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the salmon pieces in the pan, skin-side down, and season with the salt. Fry for around 3-4 minutes until the salmon is golden brown.
Flip the pieces over and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, then reduce the heat and add your seasonings or marinade. Make sure it's distributed evenly across the pieces of salmon.
Cook for another 4-5 minutes until the salmon is cooked through, then turn off the heat and serve! Enjoy your perfectly cooked salmon.
